I’m Naithan Wiles, a cinematographer and portrait photographer based in Gold Coast, Australia. My passion lies in visual storytelling, and I am fortunate to do what I love every day.

Cinematography:

Specializing in commercial projects, documentaries, short films, and music videos, I have gained extensive knowledge and expertise working in both the camera and lighting departments. This diverse experience has enriched my skills and perspective as a cinematographer. Notable productions I have contributed to include:

  • "Fence" (2025): Recently served as the cinematographer for this short film, which was featured in Flickerfest 2025.

  • "Thou Shalt Not Steal" (2024): Served as a lighting technician, supporting the cinematography team. This series has been praised for its stylish, retro feel and punchy tempo, with The Guardian stating it has "future classic written all over it."

  • "Sweet Country" (2017): Worked as a grip, contributing to the film's visual storytelling.

  • "True Spirit" (2023): Served as a lighting technician, enhancing the film's visual narrative.

  • "The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart" (2023): Worked as a lighting technician on multiple episodes of this television series.

Photography:

In addition to filmmaking, I specialize in capturing authentic, timeless, and intimate portraits using both digital or film photography. Whether working with natural light or studio lighting, my goal is to create imagery that is soulful, striking, and deeply connected to the subject.

I believe great visuals go beyond aesthetics—they tell a story, evoke emotion, and leave a lasting impact. Whether through film or portraiture, I strive to create work that resonates on a deeper level.
